The Fourth Man Charged With Assaulting Police Officers

New York ‘Green Goblin’ subway assault: Fourth suspect charged with assaulting cops to stand trial

The fourth man, who police say was one of the men responsible for the attacks, will stand trial on Tuesday for assaulting a police officer.

Police say the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Three suspects were arrested, and one has a pending court date. The three defendants pictured here with their lawyers at Tuesday’s hearing.

New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton said Thursday afternoon that the fourth man is charged with assaulting five officers of the NYPD.

The man charged is a 24-year-old named Kevin Johnson, who was previously detained for another assault in June. Police say he was in a taxi at 2:27 a.m. on June 14 when he confronted the five officers, who were investigating a disturbance on a subway platform near Fulton Street in Brooklyn.

Johnson is accused of knocking over two officers, before two others were hit, as the other three officers tried to detain him.
